This week we had the pleasure of filming with the amazing Leica Summicron-C range of prime lenses.

The Raptor-X1 drone, equipped with the @Arri Alexa Mini camera, the @Leica Summicron-C prime lenses and Arri WCU4 lens control system, was able to fly the setup for up to 15 minutes at distances up to 500m away. All this with multiple HD downlinks and full remote control of the camera, lens, focus and aperture. During the day, we conducted over 20 flights and captured amazing shots required for the production.

The Summicron-C Primes, look to offer the same unmatched optical quality of their bigger brothers in a much smaller and slightly more affordable package. The smaller size is a huge benefit when using these lenses on a drone as they’re lighter and balance perfectly with the Movi M15 and Movi Pro gimbals.
