Sister Rita

Tough, uncompromising, and determined to get the best results for whoever comes through her door, Sister Rita Lee is a unique trouble shooter, running a drop-in centre in Collyhurst, one of the poorest parts of Manchester. The centre includes the Lalley Centre food bank, welfare rights services and employment support.

Sister Rita’s no-nonsense approach and unorthodox methods have given her the reputation of being able to take on any problem - but she doesn’t suffer fools and has no patience with bureaucracy and red tape.

Filming the aerial shots for this observational series for the BBC gives a true perspective to the story of Sister Rita and her team as they battle to resolve the sort of issues replicated in countless other communities across the country.
