Victoria is a British drama television series created by Daisy Goodwin and featuring an all-star cast including Jenna Coleman as the young Queen Victoria and Tom Hughes as Prince Albert.
Victoria’s royal decree was that we used our Raptor X1 heavy-lift drone with our Arri AlexaM, Zeiss Ultra Primes and Arri WCU4 Focus and Iris Control. The Raptor X1 has been designed from the ground up for film and television work, weather resistant with long flight times and high stability.
In the first series, Queen Victoria’s life is chronicled as the story begins with the death of King William IV in 1837, her accession to the throne at the tender age of 18 and her relationships with the influential forces around her. With the advice of the prime minister Lord Melbourne and the support of her husband Prince Albert the young queen flourishes and establishes herself in her newfound role.
In this second series, it picks up six weeks after the first series ended, with Queen Victoria adjusting to life as a new mother, learning to balance her responsibilities as both parent and Queen. Being the first reigning monarch to marry and give birth while on the throne, viewers will be given an insight into how Victoria juggled the different parts of her life.
Meanwhile, Prince Albert is still struggling to find a role for himself alongside his powerful wife as she returns to her duties.
Using our Raptor X1 heavy-lift drone with our Arri AlexaM, Zeiss Ultra Primes and Arri WCU4 Focus and Iris Control we captured amazing aerial footage for this premier ITV drama. The Raptor X1 has been designed from the ground up for film and television work with specialist DP cameras, long flight times, weather resistant and high stability.
The first episode of the new series airs on Sunday August 27 at 9.05pm on ITV, and will be followed by a 2017 Christmas special.
